In the mid-eighties, the Japanese AMADA Group decided to establish a production site for bimetal saw bands and press brake tooling in Europe. After a thorough investigation of all the possible sites, AMADA chose the one in Lower Austria - in the town of Ternitz, about 60 km south of Vienna. The new manufacturing plant was established within the "EU-Wirtschaftspark-Ternitz".
The name of the company, which was founded in 1986 and is a 100% subsidiary of the AMADA Group: AMADA Austria GmbH
After completion of the construction phase from 1986 until mid-1987 and after installation and commissioning of the manufacturing plant, the large-scale automated production of bimetal saw bands for use in fully automated band-sawing machines was started in July 1987.
In October 1988, the production of press brake tools for sheet metal working on CNC bending presses was started.
Our sales branch office, AMADA-Sägetechnik Deutschland, was established in the greater Düsseldorf area in January 2000. This branch office also takes care of band saw sales and is responsible for exports to all EU countries.
A further plant addition was begun in the spring of 2001 in order to realize the future goal of achieving a greater production capacity for band saws. Production of carbide-tipped band saw blades was successfully launched in the spring of 2003.
In June 2004, AMADA Austria GmbH took over the subsidiary in France, AMADA-Techni-Scia, the sales branch office looking after the needs of the saw industry (band saw blades, band saws and service) on the French, Spanish and North African markets.
As a result of extensive know-how and long-standing experience in the production of high-quality saw bands and press brake tools, AAG not only satisfies the customers' wishes with optimal solutions based on an innovative, flexible and customer-oriented corporate policy, but has also been well established on the international markets for many years. Supreme quality and punctuality are the standards that count for the company. In order to meet these highly responsible and demanding requirements, AMADA Austria GmbH has a state-of-the-art plant and equipment, as well as flexible, motivated and highly qualified employees.
The high quality of products manufactured here is guaranteed by the quality assurance system in accordance with ISO 9001, which was established in 1997 and is certified by Lloyd's Register.
